More family fun & memories

Christopher started his Christmas break yesterday, so we did some more baking for a couple of events.  Today, CG is celebrating Christmas with the ESL (English as a second language) class at the high school.  He wanted to bring in Christmas sweets and some Egg Nog, so we made several different goodies.  Last night, the youth group from church held their annual PJ party/dessert contest, so we also made sweets for this event.  CG has won the dessert contest the past two years, so he set out to win his third.  Each year, he comes up with a recipe that contains Egg Nog (if you read yesterday's blog about our visit to the nursing home, now you see where the name "Egg Nog Club" comes from.  CG enjoys Egg Nog:-)   Last night he made Egg Nog fudge.  He didn't win, but it sure did look "pretty".

Egg Nog Fudge

Greg and Christopher making Greg's mother's famous divinity fudge.  This is one of our annual traditions during Christmas.  This recipe can be very challenging to make.  One of their three batches turned out:-)  Greg always "licked the spoon" when he was younger, so he passed the baton to our kids.  It appears that Christopher has the spoon stuck in his mouth.

Gracie "greeting" Christopher after she walked in the door from school.  She has always adored her little brother, and so has CG.  We have always said the older two treat Christopher like a king, but Cody keeps him humble.

CG's "display" on the dessert table.  Don't miss the gold wreath that he has the plate sitting on top of, and of course the blinking light he has directed towards his masterpiece. Like I continue to say, never a dull moment...

Thank you for your continued prayers!
